Biography

Mikael Matossian is an Energy Sector Manager at Tetra Tech, where he designs, delivers and evaluates clean energy programs for public and private partners worldwide. He was previously based in Armenia, where he served as deputy project manager and technical lead for a U.S. Government-funded energy security project that advanced institutional reform, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and emergency preparedness across the country.

There, he led cooperation with stakeholders in Armenia’s energy sector including the National Polytechnic University of Armenia and all Armenia to provide opportunities for students to pursue energy engineering. He has led policy-regulatory assessments, designed grant windows for early-stage companies, conducted cost-benefit analyses, and created monitoring, evaluation and learning plans and tools to advance renewable energy and energy efficiency in Armenia as well as developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and eastern Europe. He holds a MS in energy science, technology and policy and BS in environmental science and engineering.
