Dikran Babikian

Biography

Dr. Dikran Babikian earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from
Damascus University in 1979 and moved to the United States to pursue
advanced studies in engineering. He completed a master’s degree in
Fluid Mechanics and a Ph.D. in Thermal Sciences at the University of
California, Irvine, graduating in 1989.

Dr. Babikian’s doctoral research and work at NASA’s Ames Research
Center in Moffett Field, California, contributed to advancing research
for a manned mission to Mars. During his tenure at NASA, he further
expanded his expertise by earning an MBA from San Jose State
University.

After leaving NASA, Dr. Babikian transitioned to the semiconductor
capital equipment industry, where he served as Vice President at SVG
and later at ASML, making significant contributions to technological
innovation and advancement in the field.

Subsequently, he relocated to Los Angeles to join Bobrick, a prominent
manufacturer of washroom accessories, as Vice President of
Engineering. In 2017, motivated by a commitment to Armenia’s economic
development and the enhancement of hygiene practices, he founded
Babikian Healthcare Products (BHP CJSC). The company focuses on
producing medical-grade hand sanitizers, serving both the healthcare
sector and the wider community.

For the past three years, Dr. Babikian is primarily focused on his
entrepreneurial ventures in Armenia. Beyond his business endeavors, he
remains an active member of the Armenian community, serving on the
Central Executive Board of Hamazkayin, the Armenian Educational and
Cultural Society.
