Biography

Dr. Shant Mahserejian, PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics, University of Notre Dame. He is an interdisciplinary researcher whose work bridges computational sciences, such as mathematics, statistics, and machine learning, with applied fields including biology, materials science, and economics to address complex challenges at the intersection of research and policy. Shant has led major projects at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and national initiatives supported by the DOE, DARPA, and DOD. Dr. Mahserejian’s research emphasizes causality as a unifying principle across computational sciences, empowering experts and policymakers to derive meaningful insights from complex data.  He is dedicated to community building, founding the Causality Community of Interest (CausalCOIN), serving as a STEM Ambassador, mentoring young scientists, and contributing to the Armenian community through leadership, outreach, and a commitment to fostering scientific, technological, and cultural progress for future generations.
